Leonardo Rodríguez Sirtori was born in Bogotá, Colombia. He graduated with a degree in Fine Arts Painting and Drawing at the Art Students League of New York in 1993 where he studied with David Leffel and Sherrie Mc Graw. He also attended the Anthropology Film Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the invitation of Carroll Williams and worked at Antonio Inverno´s atelier in Lisbon Portugal. He received the Merit Scholarship, The Board of Control Scholarship and The Rebson Foundation Scholarship at the Art Students League. In 1993 He won first prize at a National Show of Still Life at the Bolivarian Museum of Contemporary Art in Santa Marta, Colombia and a Distinction Award at the National Arts Club in New York City. He taught drawing as a substitute teacher at the Art Students League and had his own students at his studio in New York. He had a solo show at The Patronato Pro-patrimonio Cultural in San Salvador, El Salvador in 1997. He has been represented by Plastica Contemporanea in Guatemala, Siglo XXI in El Salvador, Robert Wilson Galleries in Nantucket, Massachusetts. His work has been shown collectively in Riellof Gallery in New York, Cork Gallery at Lincoln Center, UJB Gallery in Princeton, New Jersey, Galeria Espacio in San Salvador among others.
He lives and works in Bogotá, represented by Alonso Arte Gallery where he exhibits and participates in international art fairs such as ArtBo in Bogotá and Arte Americas in Miami, Florida.
